Former Western Canada Karting star Sean MacDonell has found success in the Sprint Car ranks

Former Western Canada Karting star, Sean MacDonell has had quite the ride in his first season of Sprint Car Racing in the Gee & Gee Racing house car, taking it to victory lane for the second time in four starts at Alberta's premier track, Castrol Raceway.

The former karting star commented, "I have not had as much fun on four wheels as I have racing these 650 HP rockets. I would like to thank my Sponsors, Mister Transmission, B&R Recovery, Champion Sales & Consulting and Atlantic Safety Products, with out their support I would not be able to do what I love to do."

MacDonell attributes his early success to his karting experience. "I really believe that my karting experience has helped me become a better driver, whether it's on the pavement or the dirt in order to go fast you have to be smooth and I learned that through karting."

MacDonell has high praise for those that helped him to progress to where he is today. "Without people like Stratotech track owner Dan Beith, Edmonton Karting Association, and most importantly Joey Guyon and the boys from Overdrive Motorsports, I would not be as successful as I am today."
